The incredibly talented Donald Glover is being added to the Star Wars universe in the role of a young Lando Calrissian for the Han Solo stand alone movie. The movie is slated for release in 2018 and is being Directed by Phil Lord (writer for the Lego Movie and 22 Jump Street), and Christopher Miller (also a writer for the Lego movie and producer on 22 Jump Street). Donald Glover has been blowing up for some time now as the grammy nominated rap artist “Childish Gambino”, the hilarious character Troy in the show “Community”, and the now creator of the hit tv show “Atlanta”.
“We’re so lucky to have an artist as talented as Donald join us,” said Directors Phile Lord and Christopher Miller. “These are big shoes to fill, and an even bigger cape, and this one fits him perfectly, which will save us money on alterations. Also, we’d like to publicly apologize to Donald for ruining Comic-Con for him forever.”
We have no doubts that Donald Glover will deliver a stellar role as Lando as is evident in all of his work. What do you think of this casting? Hit us up on twitter and let us know @BadCoyoteFunky
