The first trailer for Injustice 2 has just dropped on the internet and will continue the story of the first game Injustice: Gods Among Us. In this trailer the heroes are battling each other in style with the addition of enhanced Iron Man-like armor.

Injustice: Gods Among Us didn’t have any tag team modes, but this trailer does hint at possible alliances, and maybe they’ll have something like that in store in there “huge variety of game modes” In regards to the armor, Soul Calibur seemed to do something similar but it was purely cosmetic. I wonder how this would work in a tournament setting…how would you be able to customize your character the way you want in order to compete, or would everyone have to stick to barebones characters?

The first Injustice fighting system was very similar to Mortal Kombat 9, fun combos, meter granted you stronger special moves, a full meter gauge gave you a type of super move, environmental weapons, and mobility options. It made a fun game overall. The single player campaign had a similar flow to MK9 as well, which is a good thing when you incorporate the Injustice storytelling and DC characters.

What stood out to me was Netherrealm’s attention to detail. Batman was voiced by the same voice actor from the animated series, Kevin Conroy, and Tara Strong as Harley Quinn . The detail in the stages like the Gotham City rooftop, fighting next to the Bat signal and making it an environmental object was a great idea, and helped with game immersion. The interactables that changed the location of the fight (and granted some good damage for setting it up vs your opponent) were epic, and changed the meta game competitively

Injustice 2 is coming to PS4 and Xbox One in 2017
