Hello everyone, welcome to this week in k-pop. This is about GLAM’s disbandment There’s more to come though. B1af is getting their own article incase you were wondering! Let’s get started!

So where do we start? Oh yeah… GLAM! The k-pop group GLAM that debuted in 2012 has officially disbanded. Their most current line-up was Park Jiyeon, Zinni, Kim Da-hee and Lee Mi-so. Trinity left in 2013 due to not wanting to be a celebrity. It’s been speculated since she used to be a saesang fan for Leetuk of super Junior, as of posing as a CEO’s daughter to meet him, this made her look bad as a celebrity. Just what I think…

Anyway… Their company said everyone is taking separate paths. But, this seems to be heavily influenced by Dahee, who was accused and convicted of blackmailing Lee Byung Hyun. Speaking of which, Dahee and Jiyeon were sentenced for blackmailing Byung Hyun. I’ll post what the department of justice had to say:  he Department of Justice said, “[The two women] are guilty of their charges. However, neither of them have criminal records and the situation did not carry through. The video was not released to the public, and the crime was not carefully contemplated, nor did it seem like they appreciated the gravity of their actions. However, even if [Lee Byung Hun] had made inappropriate sexual jokes during a meeting with alcohol involved, they filmed the interaction secretly and threatened him for money. This caused emotional distress to the victim and with the unconfirmed, one-sided statements, the victim suffered significantly from public criticism. Ji Yeon was in a relationship with the victim, and caused even more damage by claiming that she was the victim of sexual harassment.”

They added, “Although the defendants submitted letters of apology, they did not show their sincerity in apologizing for their behavior in their relationship with the victim. Because that counts against them, it is impossible to avoid imprisonment. The victim, as a celebrity, is a man with a family but engaged in sexual jokes and expressed his interest in them, who are much younger women. It is important to consider their ages and circumstances in the assessment.”

According to police, Ji Yeon and Dahee met Lee Byung Hun through a mutual friend, and after showing Lee Byung Hun a part of an inappropriate video, they demanded five billion won, while Lee Byung Hun immediately reported this to police. The two women were arrested in last September.

So… GLAM is officially disbanded (they had quite a few line up changes two in the three years they were together). Dahee and Ji Yeon deserve to be punished; they clearly just wanted money from Byung Hun. Poor Hun oppa! Though I’m sad to see a k-pop group disband, I never really got into them and then this happened! If you were a GLAM fan… I’m so sorry…

Thanks for reading!

And remember, no hickies!

xoxo, Elise
