Tracking Ida is a great exploration of history and period reporting combined with escape the room style puzzles. This analogue game was featured in the nominee section of IndieCade and presents portions of the story of Ida B. Wells. She was a reporter near the end of the 1800’s through the beginning of the 1900’s. The point of the game is to learn about journalistic bias and , for me, about a figure that I was completely unaware of. One of the most unfortunate part of Ida’s history that I learned about is that a mob destroyed her newspaper office in 1892, basically erasing most of her work from printed history. The game travels to conferences coast to coast. As of right now the game exists as only as this traveling piece so there aren’t many mass ways to play it. I do recommend checking it out if you find it at a conference near you
