Welcome to this week in K-pop! I put another article up about Exo, read that one too ok? ANYWHO let’s get started!
So SM is caught up in a controversy with one of its rookies. It’s not as big as the Exo thing but it’s still garnering a lot of attention. Rookie Lee Taeyong, known as being the rapper on Red Velvet’s cover of Be Natural. He was apparently linked to have scammed people online and saying horrible things to them. I figured it was just some rumor, like with Jenny Kim, But Taeyong and SM confirmed it. When Taeyong was in his second year of middle school, he used to sell Gundamn toys. Teayong’s ID (hssarang98) on Joonggonara was reported for inaccurate information on the item and was accused of being a scam artist. He’s purposely sent the wrong figures, figures with missing parts and even not sent things at all! People have reported him as a scam artist on the website where he’s had his accounts removed and banned many times. He’s been reported to curse at customers who asked where their gundam was, calling them “retard” and “fuck” and “are you motherless”. SM confirmed this to be true, it can be traced because Taeyong had another account using his real name Lee Tae Yong. Taeyong publicly apologized and said his antics in middle school were childish and that he is deeply sorry. SM said they want to make him become a better man and will keep him on track… For their sake I hope so.
In the midst of many contract nullifications… B.A.P has revealed to have filed for contract nullification with TS entertainment. The group has produced 11 albums and they are making only 18,000,000 KRW (~ 16,000 USD) per member for the 3 years that they’ve been active. Other groups at TS have claimed they’re unfair with pay so this is sad. They deserve more money and they should get the justice they deserve! Poor B.A.P!! Oppas fighting!
So in the midst of all this, Sunye has filed for retirement from JYP and the wondergirls. She wants to explore her spirituality, be married, and not be famous. She enjoyed singing but she says it isn’t for her anymore. So I guess we’ll never see The WonderGirls as a group again… Hopefully the other members will promote solos like Yenny did. Apparently JYP didn’t agree on the retirement, so somehow she managed to retire? She’s still contracted though so that’s fishy. Well RIP wondergirls…
Thanks for the read! Comment below on what you think!
And remember, no hickies!
