IGR with Lumini at Momocon 2015

This was a surprising game to see at Momocon. There were plenty of polished good looking game there, but Speelbaars, the developers of Lumini, are from the Netherlands. The Dutch Government helped fund their trip to come to this conference…. Dam. What did you do today?

Crazy origin stories aside, this is a relaxing flowing sort of game with measured doses of anxiety as monsters that will eat your little sky fish (Lumini) pop out from behind well placed rocks. When you aren’t trying to take down monsters with your flying Pikmin you guide your school of lumini through the level to collect energy and power the restoration of the planet. The game is simply to play but presented a fair amount of challenge during the 10 minutes or so that I was able to play. If Flower or Journey were your cup of tea, then this game is going to be right up your alley.
