White, is a simple 2D shooter that looks a little like Asteroids in a cave. It isn’t until you start understanding what the game is about and the surrealist design of the environment  comes into focus that you get a little kick in the gut. White is a demo I played at MomoCon. You play the last blood cell in the body of a little girl with a virus (seemingly HIV/AIDS). You maneuver through her blood stream to try to eradicate infections and virus cells. In between levels you see dialogue bubbles of conversations the little girl is having with her mom about her disease. It is really tough to read even though there isn’t a lot of visual stimulus. To the designer’s credit, that was a purposeful decision. The demo ends with a little info about HIV/AIDS and serves as a nice wrap up to what may be good hybrid serious game/casual shooter when it is complete.
