In an attempt to compete with Xbox Elite and Scuf controllers, Playstation has invited two third-party peripheral manufacturers to take a stab at creating controllers targeted at “pro gamers”. These fugly controllers are meant to enhance your reaction time, reduce input lag, and make you feel like you’ve purchased a premium product that will automatically make you “git gud”.
The current buzz in the gaming community seems to prefer the Nacon Revolution controller with its staggered joystick layout, four extra shortcut buttons, two internal compartments with six additional weights for custom balance, and back pedals.
Razer is widely known in the gaming community for making some of the best controllers, headsets and other peripherals for each category of gamer. Here we have the Raiju controller for PS4, with two extra bumpers and two extra detachable triggers, detachable analog stick rubber caps, trigger-stop switches and hair trigger modes, which are all similar to the Xbox Elite.
Both controllers will be available this holiday season with no official date from Playstation. I would personally like to see a mixture of both controllers as they both offer individual postivies that would work into one super controller, like the Nacon’s staggerd joystick juxtaposition melded with the Razer’s trigger-stop switches and hair trigger mode.
